Al-Mustaqbal University continues to strengthen its leading position within the higher education sector, announcing a new academic achievement for the third consecutive year in the Times Higher Education Arab University Rankings 2026. The University ranked within the top group of Iraqi universities, securing third place (shared) in Iraq among 58 Iraqi universities included in the ranking. It also entered the 100–125 category at the Arab level, making it one of the top four Iraqi universities within this tier, in a classification that included 268 universities from 18 Arab countries.
The President of Al-Mustaqbal University, Professor Hasan Shaker Majdi, stated to the University’s Media Office that the University’s presence for the third consecutive year in the Times Arab Ranking reflects the strength of its institutional performance and the effectiveness of its strategic approach in enhancing educational quality, supporting scientific research, and advancing academic internationalization. He added that achieving an advanced position both nationally and regionally is the result of continuous investment in developing colleges and research centers, fostering an innovation-driven environment, and expanding scientific partnerships with renowned international institutions.
For his part, the Director of Scientific and Academic Supervision, Professor Muzafar Sadiq Al-Zuhairi, explained that maintaining this advanced position at the Iraqi and Arab levels reflects years of dedicated effort in strengthening scientific publication, expanding joint research projects, and developing international collaboration programs, in addition to improving the research infrastructure that clearly contributed to raising the University’s indicators in global rankings.
He also noted that the University continues to implement its strategic plans aimed at enhancing the teaching and learning environment, expanding international partnerships, and reinforcing its regional and global presence.

Teaching and Learning Environment, Scientific Research, Research Impact (Citations), Industry and Knowledge Transfer, and International Outlook—a comprehensive methodology that evaluates academic and research performance in Arab universities.
