Al-Mustaqbal University held an official ceremony to celebrate its academic achievements, where Professor Dr. Hasan Shaker Majdi, the university president, announced that the university had achieved the first rank in Iraq across three prestigious global rankings: the Times Higher Education Interdisciplinary Science Ranking (ISR 2026), the QS Sustainability Ranking 2026, and the Times Higher Education Arab Universities Ranking (THE Arab Universities Ranking). The ceremony was attended by officials and academic figures, including the Governor of Babil, Mr. Adnan Feyhan Al-Dulaimi, the Head of Babil Provincial Council, Mr. Asaad Al-Muslimawi, and the President of the Scientific Research Authority, Dr. Shafiq Shaker Al-Mawla, in addition to university presidents, assistants, deans, and representatives from both the public and private sectors. Participants emphasized the university’s prominent status and leading role in advancing higher education and scientific research, praising its ability to compete and innovate both locally and internationally. The ceremony opened with a speech by Professor Dr. Muzaffar Sadiq Al-Zuhairi, Director of Academic and Scientific Supervision, highlighting that the university achieved the first rank among private universities and the second rank in Iraq in the QS Sustainability Ranking, topped Iraq in the ISR ranking, and entered the 101–125 category regionally in the Times Higher Education Arab Universities Ranking. He explained that these achievements reflect the university’s strategic vision supporting high-impact research, community service, and sustainable development. The Governor of Babil, the Head of the Provincial Council, and the President of the Scientific Research Authority also praised the university’s academic efforts, emphasizing its role in providing society with skilled professionals, pioneering initiatives, and linking scientific research with the industrial sector. The ceremony included honoring the university president as well as a number of professors, researchers, and administrative staff for their contributions to the university’s achievements and enhancing its international presence. It concluded by reaffirming Al-Mustaqbal University’s commitment to excellence and innovation, continuing its role as a leading academic institution contributing to knowledge creation and sustainable development.
