The Department of Chemical Engineering and Oil Industries at the College of Engineering – Al-Mustaqbal University organized a field scientific trip for second-year students to the Hilla Textile Factory, as part of the college’s commitment to enhancing the practical aspect of learning and connecting theoretical coursework with real industrial environments. During the visit, the students toured the production lines in their various stages and learned about the equipment and machinery used in spinning and weaving processes, as well as the operating mechanisms and production line management. The factory staff also provided a detailed explanation of the adopted quality systems and the technical procedures followed within the facility, giving the students a clear professional insight into the industrial operations of the textile sector. This visit comes within the department’s plan to strengthen students’ skills and prepare them for the labor market by providing direct exposure to real industrial settings. Such activities also contribute to achieving Sustainable Development Goal (SDG 9): Industry, Innovation, and Infrastructure, by supporting applied education and encouraging students to explore modern industrial technologies and their role in developing productive sectors. Al-Mustaqbal University’s College of Engineering affirms its continued commitment to supporting field scientific activities that contribute to developing students’ skills and enhancing their capabilities in alignment with the needs of the Iraqi industry and the requirements of technological advancement.
