The Department of Chemical Engineering and Oil Industries at the College of Engineering organized a recreational and educational visit for second-year students to Al-Mustaqbal University Reserve – Mushroom Farm, under the supervision of the Head of the Department, Dr. Alaa Dhari. The visit aimed to provide students with an opportunity to relax and unwind, helping them relieve exam stress.
This visit aligns with Sustainable Development Goal 3 (Good Health and Well-Being) by supporting students’ mental health and promoting a sense of comfort and balance. It also supports Goal 15 (Life on Land), as the reserve features a natural environment rich in plant elements.
Students toured the reserve, particularly the Mushroom Farm, where they learned about the natural environment for mushroom cultivation, methods of care, and the green spaces that create a calm atmosphere conducive to relaxation away from exam pressures.
The visit also included light interactive activities that helped strengthen camaraderie among students, reduce stress, and enhance positive communication within the academic environment.
Dr. Alaa Dhari emphasized that this visit reflects the department’s interest in the psychological and social well-being of students, aiming to provide a comfortable educational environment that positively impacts their academic performance and concentration.
The students expressed their happiness with the visit, noting its importance in breaking the study routine and extending their thanks to the department administration for initiatives that consider their psychological and educational needs.
