The Department of Prosthetics and Orthotics Engineering Launches a Promotional Campaign to Introduce Students to the Importance of the Major

Under the supervision of the College of Engineering at Al-Mustaqbal University, the Department of Prosthetics and Orthotics Engineering launched a promotional campaign within the Registration and Student Affairs Department. The campaign aimed to introduce new students and visitors to the importance of the major and its humanitarian, medical, and technical role in serving the community, supporting the achievement of Sustainable Development Goal 3: Good Health and Well-Being. The campaign sought to raise students’ awareness of the major and highlight its vital role in the production of prosthetic limbs and assistive devices, contributing to rehabilitation and improving the quality of life for individuals with mobility needs. Several faculty members participated in the campaign, including Assistant Lecturer Mariam Ghassan Ghafar and Teaching Assistant Aya Hassan Talib. They provided simplified explanations about the nature of the major, the engineering and practical skills students acquire, and the future career opportunities in this humanitarian field that supports the healthcare sector. The campaign included distributing informational brochures, displaying models of prosthetic limbs and orthotic devices, and answering students’ inquiries regarding admission requirements, coursework, laboratories, and practical applications within the department.
