The Department of Medical Biotechnology organized a student scientific workshop entitled “River Pollution and Its Impact on Local Communities”, delivered by (Asst. Prof. Dr. Mohammed Zuhair Naji), as part of the department’s scientific activities aimed at raising environmental and scientific awareness among students.
The workshop highlighted the causes and sources of river pollution, its environmental and health impacts, and its effects on local communities and public health. It also discussed the role of biotechnology techniques in monitoring pollutants and reducing their negative effects.
The workshop witnessed positive interaction from students through discussions and questions, reflecting the importance of the topic and its direct relevance to environmental and community issues.
This workshop comes within the department’s efforts to promote environmental awareness, link theoretical knowledge with practical applications, and contribute to achieving sustainable development goals by preparing scientifically qualified and environmentally conscious graduates.
