Under the patronage of the President of Al-Mustaqbal University, Professor Dr. Hassan Shakir Majdi, and in cooperation with the Women’s Affairs Division, the Women’s Affairs Unit at the Technical Engineering College, under the supervision of the Computer Engineering Techniques Department, organized an awareness workshop entitled: “Domestic Violence: Its Causes, Consequences, and Treatment.” The workshop was also held under the patronage of the Dean of the College, Assistant Professor Dr. Azhar Mohsen Abd, and attended by the Head of the Computer Engineering Techniques Department, Assistant Professor Dr. Haider Jabbar Abd Nassar, along with a number of faculty members and students. The event took place in the Conference Hall on Tuesday, 16/12/2025, at 12:00 p.m. The lecture was delivered by Assistant Professor Dr. Abdullah Jabbar Hussein, who addressed the concept of domestic violence, its various forms, and its psychological, social, and economic causes. He also highlighted its negative effects on individuals, families, and society, and its impact on social stability and mental health. In addition, he shed light on legal and social measures to reduce this phenomenon, emphasizing the promotion of family dialogue and the spread of community awareness. This workshop was organized in line with the Sustainable Development Goals, particularly Goal Five (Gender Equality), through combating all forms of domestic violence, enhancing family protection, promoting human values, and supporting the role of educational institutions in social awareness and in building positive behavior among students. At the conclusion of the workshop, the organizers stressed the importance of continuing such awareness activities due to their effective role in supporting community development and enhancing social stability.
