As part of the College of Engineering’s efforts at Al-Mustaqbal University to support practical training and develop students’ skills, the Department of Biomedical Engineering organized a field visit for fifth-year students to Dr. Jawdat Al-Rukabi’s Radiology Clinic, under the supervision of Lecturer Maher Rahman Abdul Amir and Engineer Zainab Ali Jabr.
The visit included an intensive training day during which students were introduced to the clinical work environment and the mechanisms for managing health information through modern medical systems. In addition, they followed a practical explanation on the operation of ultrasound equipment and its methods of use in clinical diagnosis.
Students were also given the opportunity to observe a live application of a medical examination using the advanced 128 Slice Dual X-ray Tube CT Scanner (Spiral CT), where they learned about its technical features, examination procedures, and how high-precision three-dimensional anatomical images are produced.
This activity reflects the department’s commitment to providing hands-on experiences that enhance students’ capabilities and strengthen their direct engagement with medical imaging technologies used in modern healthcare institutions, in line with the program’s academic accreditation standards. It also supports the university’s efforts toward achieving Sustainable Development Goal 3 (Good Health and Well-being) and Sustainable Development Goal 4 (Quality Education) by promoting applied education and preparing graduates with professional skills that meet labor market needs.
