Under the patronage of the President of Al-Mustaqbal University, and under the supervision of the Dean of the Technical Engineering College, Assistant Professor Dr. Azhar Mohsen Abd, a specialized workshop entitled “Examination Instructions and Modern Assessment Methods” was held. The workshop was delivered by Assistant Professor Dr. Hassan Hamad Ali, Head of the Measurement and Evaluation Unit at the College.
The workshop aimed to develop examination mechanisms and enhance assessment systems in line with academic quality standards. It included a comprehensive review of the approved examination instructions, along with a detailed analysis of achievement rates during the previous academic year, with the aim of identifying gaps, avoiding errors, and strengthening the key aspects of the examination process.
The workshop also highlighted the shift toward modern assessment methods for measuring students’ skills and learning outcomes, including:
Authentic and digital formative assessment.
Rubrics and electronic portfolios.
Simulation-based assessment to ensure accurate measurement of educational outcomes.

First: Addressing Weaknesses in Examination Performance
Holding training workshops for teaching staff on the proper formulation of examination questions according to international academic standards.
Activating thorough review of examination questions by scientific department administrations to ensure they are free from scientific or linguistic errors.
Reviewing examination discipline regulations and raising students’ awareness of them to improve behavior during exams.
Second: Analyzing and Addressing Examination Results
Studying the reasons behind variations in pass rates among different academic departments.
Identifying the most challenging courses and organizing intensive remedial courses for students, especially in core subjects such as mathematics and physics.
Updating study plans to help improve success rates and enhance students’ comprehension.

Forming specialized committees to review curricula and examine those adopted by reputable universities, ensuring alignment between learning outcomes, labor market requirements, and modern academic developments.
