The College of Health and Medical Technologies, Department of Anesthesia Technologies at Al-Mustaqbal University, organized a scientific and humanitarian visit to the Babylon Center for Hematological Diseases, under the supervision of Dr. Talib Jijan, Dr. Ahmed Khudair, and Mr. Ali Qasim Jawad, with the participation of a number of college students. This visit was conducted as part of the college’s activities aimed at enhancing the scientific and humanitarian aspects of students’ education and serving the community.
The visit included the distribution of gifts and flowers to patients at the center, as a humanitarian initiative intended to provide psychological support, bring joy to their hearts, and emphasize the values of social solidarity and community responsibility.
The visit also featured an educational scientific lecture on hereditary blood diseases, which addressed the types of these diseases, their causes, methods of prevention, and ways of dealing with them. The lecture highlighted the importance of early screening and the dissemination of health awareness among members of the community.
The center’s administration praised this initiative, expressing appreciation for the role of the College of Health and Medical Technologies in supporting health institutions and strengthening community partnership. Meanwhile, the students expressed their happiness at participating in this visit due to its direct scientific and humanitarian impact.
This visit comes within a series of activities carried out by the college to prepare students who possess scientific and humanitarian awareness and are capable of making an effective contribution to serving the community
Within the framework of supporting the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), this visit contributes to the achievement of several of their targets, particularly Goal 3: Good Health and Well-Being, through spreading health awareness about hereditary blood diseases and emphasizing the importance of prevention and early screening. In addition, it supports Goal 4: Quality Education by enhancing the practical and cognitive aspects of students’ learning and linking academic knowledge with real-world health and community contexts.
The visit also reflects Goal 17: Partnerships for the Goals, through constructive cooperation between academic institutions and health centers, which contributes to building a healthy, aware, and sustainable society, and strengthens students’ sense of social responsibility as future active cadres in serving the community.
