Al-Mustaqbal University Ranks First Among Private Universities in the 2025 Arab University Ranking Issued by the Association of Arab Universities

The President of Al-Mustaqbal University congratulated the University on the advanced results it achieved in the 2025 Arab University Ranking, announced by the Association of Arab Universities on Monday, 22 December 2025, affirming that this achievement represents a significant milestone in the University’s academic and scientific journey. Professor Dr. Hassan Shaker Majdi, President of Al-Mustaqbal University, announced that the University achieved distinguished results by ranking first among private universities and colleges in Iraq, and fifth locally, following the University of Baghdad, the University of Anbar, Al-Mustansiriyah University, and the University of Technology. This ranking was achieved out of 63 Iraqi universities participating in the classification, in addition to securing 62nd place at the level of Arab universities. The Arab University Ranking is organized across the Arab world through cooperation between the Association of Arab Universities, the League of Arab States, the Arab League Educational, Cultural and Scientific Organization (ALECSO), and the Union of Arab Scientific Research Councils. This year’s ranking witnessed the participation of 236 universities from 20 Arab countries, reflecting the breadth of competition and the high level of adopted standards. In the context of announcing the results, the University President extended his congratulations to the academic staff, employees, and students of the University, commending the great efforts they exerted that contributed to achieving this accomplishment. He also emphasized the University’s commitment to continuing its efforts to improve academic performance and enhance scientific and research standards. He noted that the Arab University Ranking aims to enhance the quality of higher education and scientific research, promote innovation and sustainable development in Arab universities, and is based on a set of precise criteria that include quality of education, faculty excellence, research output, international cooperation, and community service. Professor Dr. Hassan Shaker Majdi concluded his statement by affirming that this achievement reflects the prestigious status attained by Al-Mustaqbal University and contributes to strengthening the competitiveness of Iraqi and Arab universities at both regional and international levels.
