Acid rain describes any form of precipitation that contains high levels of Nitric and sulfuric acids. It can also occur in the form of snow,fog,and tiny bits of dry materials that settle to Earth. Unpolluted rain would have a PH values between 5 and 6 ,while acid rain generally has a PH Between 4.2 and 4.4.Some rain has even been recorded as being PH2.(the vinegar has a PH of 2.2 and Lemon juice has a value of a PH2.3.) . Acid rain can be carried great distances in the atmosphere . The wind carries the pollution many hundreds of miles away where it eventually falls as acid rain not just <br />between countries but also from continent to continent.<br />. The acid rain wherever it falls it can have a serious effect on the soil,buildings,water.(The acidity of the water does not just affected species directly, it also causes toxic substances like aluminium to be released into the water from the soil, harming fish and water aquatic animal and runs down into soil below. Some of it finds its way into streams and then on into rivers, lakes and marshes. ).The acid rain falls on the forests (Acid rain directly destroys the protective layers on leaves and obstructs the process of photosynthesis by hindering the plants to use the carbon dioxide .Also The acid rain release aluminium that inhibits the growth of algae nitrogen-fixing bacteria and the mass which trees rely on to grow in a symbiotic association .) <br /><br />Every type of material will become eroded sooner or later by the effects of the climates. Water,wind,ice,and snow all help in the erosion but acid rain can help to make this natural process even quicker . The acidic substance combined with elements like sunlight eats away a cars paint very fast.)<br /> <br />When the acid rain takes the form of inhalable fog, acid precipitation can cause health problems including eye irritation ,also the toxic gases can cause Asthma ,Cancer,and Heart disease.<br /><br /><br />The only way to fight acid rain is by curbing the release of the pollutants that cause it.This mean burning fewer fossil fuels and setting air – quality standards<br />
