Anesthesiologist : <br />the silent force behind the scene <br />By dr. Amassi Yakdhan <br /><br />Anesthesiologist is a highly skilled specialized doctor that his skills uniquely qualified to care for critically ill or dying patient . Knowledge of titration between pharmacology of hypnotic ,sedative, analgesic , relaxants & their direct effect on body physiology of patient under bad medical circumstances ; is the real task .<br />Anesthesiologist provides continuous medical care pre , intra & post operation .<br /> Quite challenging that could other wise cause substantial threats to patient survival .<br />Pre operative evaluation , consultation with surgical team , creation of a plan for anesthetic management ( that it is different for each case ) , secure patient's airway , control his vital signs & breathing pre , intra , post operation & all under stressful situation to the anesthesiologist .<br />This stress that anesthesiologists are daily suffer should be taken on serious ; cause it predispose them to fatigue , burnout , substance abuse & even suicide .<br />To practice anesthesia it needs dedication & hard work for approximately 12 years ad comparison to other medical fields , & all this hard work is done for benefits of sociality .<br />There is a saying that is anesthesiologist is a physician for the surgeon & a surgeon to a physician . He or she is not work as a one who only administer of anesthesia but also act as a physician , his task is not limited on given anesthesia but extended out side this scope , by asking about his medical advice , anesthetic preoperative preparation , anesthesia induction & continuous care during the operation & that to get ready for any complication ,then to keep patient as much as possible with lowest health handicaps .<br />Night shift for anesthesiologist can change his sleep pattern , so imagine the life of this human that has at least 4 to 6 night shifts per month in this gloomy atmosphere of operative room or intensive care unit when he see a patient dying infront his eye while he was do every thing to save him . Off course there are many of medical staff are involved in those situations but anesthesiologist is the main who concern & that is silent force behind the scene .<br />2021/1/5 <br />
