It's often associated with central nervous
systems Toxicity and can be caused by certain drugs resulting a yellow visual halo.

Digoxin is a medication that belongs to the class of cardiac
glycosides and is commonly used to treat severe heart
failure, atrial fibrillation, atrial flutter, and other heart
conditions. It works by lowering heart rate through
vagomimetic activity and improving contractility by inhibiting
the sodium/potassium ATPase.

Digoxin Toxicity in this condition it will lead to the inhibition of Na/K ATPase
present in retinal cell (rods and cons) will affect on electrochemical gradient due to
the inhibit of the Na/K pump leading to Na/Ca outflux from the retinal cell and it will
be hyperpolarization more negative (IPSP) which leads to decrease of glutamate
release from synaptic terminals . So the retinal cell is off due to this you will get
blurry vision (Yellow vision).
Vincent van Gogh he is the most famous person suffering
from this symptom. Towards the end of his life, under the
care of Dr. Gachet, it appears that Van Gogh may treated
with digitalis for the epileptic seizures he suffered from due
to the he believes the digoxin is antiepileptic drugs. We see
this in his paintings, which are dominated by yellow as in a
It is believed to be
( Sunflowers painting caused by digoxin poisoning.
