Under the patronage of the President of Al-Mustaqbal University, Professor Dr. Hassan Shaker Majdi,
and under the supervision of the Dean of the College of Science, Assistant Professor Dr. Furat Hamza Al-Sultani,
and the Head of the Department of Medical Biotechnology, Dr. Hasnain Khalil Ibrahim,
the Department of Medical Biotechnology at the College of Science – Al-Mustaqbal University organized an awareness workshop entitled:
“Yes to Vaccination, No to Extermination.”
The workshop was presented by Asst. Lecturer Manar Kazem Hassan.
The workshop aimed to spread awareness about the importance of vaccinating stray dogs and limiting the extermination of animals through humane methods. It also highlighted the impact of diseases such as rabies on both animals and humans. The workshop focused on:
• Protecting dogs and the community from diseases.
• Promoting humane practices in dealing with stray dogs.
• Raising awareness of the importance of vaccination and animal healthcare.
• The importance of vaccination in protecting dogs from serious diseases and reducing disease transmission to humans.
• Methods of protecting dogs, including regular vaccination, population control (spaying/neutering), and providing care and food.
The workshop emphasized the importance of protecting both animals and society from diseases through vaccination and humane care for stray dogs instead of extermination.
