Abstract Artificial intelligence has become one of the most significant technological innovations in healthcare due to its vital role in improving the quality of care and enhancing nursing practice efficiency. This article aims to review the major uses of artificial intelligence in nursing, focusing on decision-making support, patient monitoring, nursing education, and workload reduction. In addition, ethical and professional challenges associated with the implementation of artificial intelligence are discussed. The article concludes that artificial intelligence represents a supportive tool that contributes to advancing the nursing profession without replacing the human role of nurses. Introduction The healthcare sector is experiencing rapid growth in digital technologies, with artificial intelligence being one of the most influential innovations transforming healthcare delivery. Nursing plays a central role in this transformation due to nurses’ continuous involvement in patient care and monitoring. Uses of Artificial Intelligence in Nursing Supporting Nursing Decision-Making Artificial intelligence assists nurses in analyzing clinical data and predicting potential complications, thereby improving decision accuracy and reducing professional errors. Improving Patient Monitoring Intelligent systems are used to continuously monitor vital signs and provide real-time alerts, particularly in intensive care units. Nursing Robots AI-powered robots perform routine tasks such as transporting medical supplies and assisting patients, reducing physical strain on nurses. Nursing Education and Training Artificial intelligence enhances simulation-based learning and adaptive education systems, improving student competence and educational quality. Reducing Occupational Burnout AI contributes to automating documentation and scheduling, which reduces stress and burnout among nursing staff. Ethical and Professional Challenges Challenges include protecting patient data privacy, ensuring adequate nurse training, and maintaining the human-centered nature of nursing care Conclusion Artificial intelligence is a key component in advancing contemporary nursing practice by improving care quality and professional efficiency.
