The university has consistently maintained the first position in all local and international rankings in Iraq, surpassing other private and public universities, and in some cases even leading globally. Here are the most significant achievements: At the end of 2024 and the beginning of 2025, the university was awarded two “Distinguished University” awards: for 2022 and 2023, during the Science Day celebration on 30/12/2024, presented by the Honorable Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research. The university ranked first in the Iraqi National Ranking 2024, with seven of its departments achieving the top position among both public and private universities—a major accomplishment. Almustaqbal University obtained institutional accreditation, meaning all its programs are accredited. Additionally, the College of Pharmacy received programmatic accreditation, and the university is working towards American accreditation. Approvals were granted to establish international postgraduate programs in collaboration with USM University in Malaysia and a Master’s program in Law with Mansoura University in Egypt. The university ranked first globally in SDG-7 (Affordable and Clean Energy) of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), becoming the first Arab and Iraqi university to achieve this according to the British THE Impact Rankings. It ranked first among public and private universities in Iraq in the SDG-related rankings, with a global position of 201–300, marking the first time an Iraqi university reached this position in the THE Impact Rankings. Almustaqbal University achieved the top position among public and private universities in Iraq in the Times Higher Education (THE) Multidisciplinary Sciences Ranking, issued by THE (UK) and the Schmidt Foundation (Germany). The university ranked first among private universities in Iraq in the Spanish Webometrics Ranking. Almustaqbal University joined the International Association of Universities (IAU), affiliated with UNESCO and headquartered in Paris. The university ranked first among public and private universities in Iraq in the 2025 US News Ranking. The university received three first-place Excellence Awards in Scientific Research during Iraqi Science Day, granted by the Honorable Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, evaluated by Clarivate: First Place in Scientific Research in Engineering and Technology First Place in Scientific Research in Medical and Health Sciences First Place in Scientific Research in Agricultural and Veterinary Sciences The “Distinguished Private University” award for 2025 was granted to Almustaqbal University by the Honorable Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research. Almustaqbal University ranked among the top universities in the Arab University Ranking issued by Times Higher Education, at 101–125 in the Arab world and 3rd in Iraq. The university achieved 2nd place in Iraq and 1st among private universities in the QS Sustainable Rankings (UK). Almustaqbal University ranked 3rd in Iraq and 1st among private universities in the Green Matrix Environmental Ranking issued by Indonesia. The university is first among private universities and fifth overall in Iraq in the Arab Universities Ranking issued by the Association of Arab Universities.
