The university represents a scientific and educational environment aimed at preparing students academically, intellectually, and ethically. Achieving this objective is not possible without a sound educational environment governed by mutual respect and adherence to regulations. Students’ awareness of their rights and duties constitutes the cornerstone of building such an environment, as it ensures a balance between what students are entitled to receive and what is expected of them in terms of responsibility and commitment. First: University Rights of Students University students enjoy a set of rights that guarantee fair and motivating education. Among the most important of these rights are access to high-quality education, respectful treatment by academic and administrative staff, and fairness in assessment and examinations. Students also have the right to be informed about university regulations and instructions, to benefit from academic and counseling services, and to participate in student activities that contribute to personal development and the enhancement of skills. Second: University Duties of Students In return for these rights, students are required to fulfill duties of equal importance. These include adherence to university rules and regulations, respect for faculty members and fellow students, and preservation of university property. Commitment to academic integrity, regular attendance, and diligence in academic achievement are among the fundamental duties that reflect a student’s awareness, responsibility, and ethical conduct. Third: The Impact of Adherence to Rights and Duties on the Educational Environment Students’ commitment to their rights and duties plays a significant role in creating an educational environment characterized by order and mutual respect, while strengthening trust between students and university administration. It also contributes to reducing behavioral and academic problems and encourages constructive dialogue and cooperation, which positively affects the overall quality and effectiveness of the educational process. Awareness of university rights and duties is not a formal or superficial matter; rather, it is an essential requirement for ensuring the success of the educational process. A student who is aware of their rights and committed to their duties is a true partner in building an advanced university and a sound educational environment that graduates individuals capable of serving their society and assuming future responsibilities.
