The College of Fine Arts at Al-Mustaqbal University organized an educational field trip for its students to the Babylon Tourist Resort and the ancient city of Babylon, as part of its practical academic activities aimed at linking theoretical knowledge with hands-on experience and enhancing students’ cultural and heritage awareness.
The trip aimed to provide students with direct exposure to tourist and archaeological landmarks, inspiring artistic creativity drawn from historical and aesthetic values, while developing observation and visual analysis skills and strengthening their connection to national identity and Iraqi cultural heritage.
This activity aligns with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly Goal 4: Quality Education, by offering experiential learning beyond the classroom, and Goal 11: Sustainable Cities and Communities, by raising awareness of the importance of preserving archaeological sites and protecting cultural heritage as a fundamental pillar of sustainable development.
The college administration emphasized that organizing such field trips contributes to broadening students’ artistic and intellectual perspectives, reinforcing the role of art in serving the community, and promoting sustainability and national belonging through direct field experience.
