Under the patronage of Professor Dr. Hassan Shaker Majdi, President of Al-Mustaqbal University, and in cooperation with the Women’s Affairs Division, the Women’s Affairs Unit at the Engineering Technical College / Department of Fuel and Energy Engineering Technologies organized an awareness activity on Monday, January 5, 2026.
The activity was titled:
“A Workshop on Air Pollution and Treatment Methods.”
The workshop was delivered by Engineer Tabarak Mohsen Ashour and addressed the main sources of air pollution and its environmental and health impacts. It also reviewed the most prominent modern engineering technologies used to reduce and treat air pollutants through sustainable methods.
The workshop aimed to raise environmental awareness among students and academic staff, highlight the importance of improving air quality, protect public health, and support sustainable development pathways in the community, in alignment with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals, particularly:
• SDG 3: Good Health and Well-being
• SDG 11: Sustainable Cities and Communities
• SDG 13: Climate Action
This activity falls within the pillar of empowerment and development and reflects the department’s ongoing efforts to enhance environmental culture and social responsibility, linking engineering knowledge to contemporary environmental challenges.
