Glass painting is considered one of the important applied arts that effectively contributes to the development of design students’ skills, as this art requires a high level of precision, concentration, and careful handling of a transparent and sensitive surface. It also provides students with the opportunity to understand the relationship between light, color, and form, which enhances their visual and experimental thinking abilities and contributes to the development of their aesthetic and creative sensibility. Glass painting plays a significant role in preparing students artistically and professionally by training them to work with various materials and employ them using contemporary approaches that align with the requirements of modern design. It also helps develop planning and execution skills, reinforces the value of patience and accuracy in artistic work, and encourages students to research and experiment, which positively reflects on the quality of their design outcomes. One of the important aspects associated with this art is its connection to the Sustainable Development Goals, particularly Goal 12: Responsible Consumption and Production, as recycled glass can be utilized and reused in artistic works. This contributes to reducing waste, minimizing material loss, and promoting a culture of recycling among students. It also helps raise environmental awareness and instill a sense of responsibility toward natural resources. Thus, glass painting represents an artistic medium that combines creativity with environmental responsibility, contributing to the preparation of design students who are capable of producing conscious artistic works that support sustainability concepts, serve society, and keep pace with the requirements of sustainable development in artistic and design fields....Almustaqbal University, The First University in Iraq
