This project is considered an innovation in the field of biomedical engineering, as it was specifically designed as a respiratory monitoring and support device for children suffering from lung problems or diseases. The device aims to provide an accurate and easy-to-use way to monitor respiratory functions, helping medical staff and parents to continuously monitor the child's condition.
The device consists of the following parts:
• Flow/Pressure Measurement System: A dedicated connecting tube is used to receive the child's exhaled air or measure the airflow rate.
• Control Unit (Arduino): The board acts as a central processing unit to analyze signals from the sensors and convert them into understandable medical readings.
• LCD Screen: Integrated to display vital results instantly to the user.
• Alert Indicators (LEDs): Function as colored warning lights (red, blue, green) to indicate the child's respiratory status and alert those nearby in case of any abnormality.
• Protection box: All electronic circuits are assembled inside a secure white box to ensure safety and ease of use next to the baby's bed.
