An Awareness Campaign on Waste Recycling Implemented by Sustainability Ambassadors at the Department of Forensic Evidence, College of Science – Al-Mustaqbal University

As part of Al-Mustaqbal University’s commitment — the first university in Iraq — to promoting environmental sustainability and raising community awareness, the Sustainability Ambassadors at the Department of Forensic Evidence, College of Science, organized an awareness campaign on waste recycling, with active participation from faculty members and students. The campaign aimed to promote a culture of recycling, highlight its importance in reducing environmental pollution, conserving natural resources, and achieving a sustainable university environment, as well as encouraging environmentally responsible behavior among students and the academic community. The campaign included awareness sessions on proper waste sorting methods and safe, eco-friendly recycling practices, emphasizing the vital role of academic institutions in supporting environmental initiatives and achieving sustainable development. This campaign aligns with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly: Goal 4 (Quality Education) by enhancing environmental awareness and sustainability education. Goal 12 (Responsible Consumption and Production) by promoting recycling practices and waste reduction. Goal 13 (Climate Action) by contributing to the reduction of negative environmental impacts of waste. Through such initiatives, Al-Mustaqbal University reaffirms its leading role in environmental sustainability and its dedication to building a conscious and responsible generation that actively contributes to environmental protection and community service.
