In alignment with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs)—particularly Goal 3 (Good Health and Well-Being), Goal 6 (Clean Water and Sanitation), Goal 11 (Sustainable Cities and Communities), Goal 12 (Responsible Consumption and Production), Goal 13 (Climate Action), and Goal 15 (Life on Land)—and within the framework of the strategy of the College of Medical and Health Technologies aimed at strengthening community responsibility and building a generation aware of contemporary challenges, the Department of Cosmetics and Laser Technologies launched a comprehensive awareness initiative entitled: “Environmental Awareness: The Key to Sustainable Development and Waste Management” This initiative was prepared and implemented by Asst. Lecturer Ala Salman Hamza. The brochure aims to highlight the fundamental interconnection between human health and environmental safety, and to emphasize the pivotal role of sound environmental practices in achieving sustainable development that ensures quality of life for present and future generations. The initiative focuses specifically on waste management in all its forms, addressing methods of waste reduction, recycling, and safe disposal, based on the department’s firm belief that a clean environment is the cornerstone of true health and beauty. The initiative underscores that environmental awareness is not a luxury, but rather an individual, collective, and ethical responsibility. Proper environmental practices represent a genuine investment in the health of our planet, our communities, and the aesthetic and ecological balance of our surrounding world. Such practices contribute positively to improving quality of life and advancing the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals. This project represents a continuation of the awareness activities conducted by the Department of Cosmetics and Laser Technologies, which aim to promote a holistic concept of beauty grounded in scientific and ethical principles, linking self-care with active participation in building an informed, healthy, and sustainable society.
