As part of the efforts of the Department of biology to enhance community awareness and support women's issues, the department organized an awareness campaign titled "No to Violence Against Women", supervised by both Assist. Lect. Zainab Nadhim Aziz and Assist. Lect. Baneen Ma'an Karim. The campaign included the distribution of awareness brochures to students and visitors, addressing the most prominent forms of violence against women, their causes, and prevention methods, in addition to explaining the support mechanisms available for women exposed to violence. The campaign also emphasized the importance of promoting a culture of respect and equality in society. This initiative came as part of the department's efforts to support the Sustainable Development Goals, especially Goal (5) on Gender Equality and Goal (16) on Peace, Justice, and Strong Institutions, as the campaign seeks to build a safe society that respects women's rights and ensures their protection and justice.
