Forensic Evidence Department Organizes Scientific Workshop on the Importance of Waste Segregation at Al-Mustaqbal University

Under the patronage of the President of the University of Al-Mustaqbal, Prof. Dr. Hassan Shakir Majdi, and with the support and supervision of Assistant Professor Dr. Furat Hamza Al-Sultani, Dean of the College of Science, the Forensic Evidence Department at the College of Science organized a scientific awareness workshop on the importance of waste segregation and its role in protecting the environment and public health. The workshop addressed several key topics, including the concept of waste separation at the source, types of waste and proper handling methods, as well as the impact of these practices on reducing environmental pollution and promoting sustainability. The event witnessed active participation from students, as the attendees were students of the college, who showed clear engagement through discussions and questions, reflecting their environmental awareness. This workshop is part of the university’s efforts to spread environmental awareness and promote positive behaviors among students, in line with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly: SDG 13: Climate Action, by reducing the negative environmental impacts of waste. SDG 12: Responsible Consumption and Production, by encouraging proper waste segregation and management practices.
