Workshop Entitled “No to Violence

The Department of Fuel and Energy Technologies organized an awareness workshop entitled “No to Violence”, as part of its activities aimed at promoting social awareness and spreading a culture of rejecting all forms of violence within the university and the wider community. The workshop was presented by Assistant Lecturer Elaf Jassim. The workshop aimed to explain the concept of violence and its various forms, highlight its negative psychological and social effects, and emphasize the importance of instilling values of respect, dialogue, and tolerance. It also underscored the role of educational institutions in preventing violent behavior and building a safe and healthy environment. The workshop concluded by stressing the importance of collective efforts to raise awareness and promote positive behavior, contributing to social stability and aligning with the university’s mission of community service. This activity is related to SDG 3 Good Health and Well-being by reducing the psychological and physical impacts of violence, and supports SDG 16 Peace, Justice and Strong Institutions by promoting a culture of non-violence and tolerance.
