Under the patronage of Professor Dr. Hassan Shaker Majdi, President of Al-Mustaqbal University, and in cooperation with the Women’s Affairs Division, the Department of Fuel and Energy Engineering Technologies at the Engineering Technical College organized an awareness activity on Monday, January 19, 2026.
The activity was titled:
“Workshop on ‘Say No to Violence.’”
The workshop was delivered by Assistant Lecturer Elaf Jassim and addressed the concept of violence, its various forms, and its negative psychological and social impacts. It emphasized the importance of instilling values of respect, dialogue, and tolerance within the university community.
The workshop aimed to raise community awareness, promote a culture of rejecting all forms of violence, and highlight the role of educational institutions in preventing violent behaviors, building a safe and healthy environment, and encouraging collective efforts to foster positive behavior and achieve social stability.
The activity aligns with several Sustainable Development Goals, particularly:
• SDG 3: Good Health and Well-being, by reducing the psychological and physical effects of violence
• SDG 16: Peace, Justice, and Strong Institutions, by promoting a culture of non-violence and tolerance
This activity falls within the pillar of women protection and violence prevention, reflecting the university’s ongoing efforts to ensure a safe and healthy educational environment and to affirm its mission in serving the community.
