The poultry sector is considered one of the most important branches of animal production due to its vital role in achieving food security and providing a high-quality protein source at a reasonable cost. This study aims to highlight the impact of improving feeding and management systems on the productive performance of broiler chickens through a scientific review of several recent studies. The results indicate that proper nutritional balance, sound health management, and control of environmental conditions lead to improved growth rates, increased feed conversion efficiency, and reduced mortality rates, which positively reflect on the economic feasibility of poultry projects. The study recommends adopting integrated feeding and management programs to achieve optimal productive performance.
Poultry production is regarded as one of the fastest-growing sectors of animal production worldwide, due to its short production cycle and high efficiency in converting feed into meat. Feeding and management are among the most critical factors influencing the success of broiler production projects, as any deficiency in either directly affects growth and the overall health of birds. Therefore, this article aims to discuss the role of improving feeding and management systems in enhancing production efficiency and economic performance.
Importance of Poultry Production
1. Providing a high-quality protein source.
2. Rapid capital turnover compared to large livestock.
3. Limited space requirements for production.
4. Possibility of expansion and intensive production.
5. Contribution to reducing the protein food gap.
Feeding Systems in Broiler Chickens
Nutrition plays a pivotal role in achieving optimal productive performance. Diets should be well balanced in terms of:
• Energy
• Protein
• Essential amino acids
• Vitamins and mineral salts
Role of Management in Improving Productive Performance
• Control of temperature and humidity inside the poultry house
• Adequate ventilation
• Appropriate stocking density
• Vaccination and health prevention programs
• Regular cleaning and disinfection
Economic Impact of Improving Feeding and Management
• Increase in final body weight of birds
• Improvement in feed conversion ratio
• Reduction in treatment costs and losses
• Increase in net profit for producers
It can be concluded that improving feeding and management systems in broiler production projects is one of the most important pillars for increasing production and enhancing economic efficiency. The application of well-designed scientific programs contributes to achieving high productive results while minimizing health risks.
