r. Mohammed Hamza Al-Maamouri, a professor at the University of Al-Mustaqbal, stated on Wednesday that Iraq currently has nearly 5,000 registered patents that have not been practically implemented on the ground.
In a statement to Noon News Agency, Al-Maamouri explained that approximately 97% of Iraqi patents have not been adopted by the Iraqi government or local investors, which represents a significant loss of national innovative potential.
Dr. Al-Maamouri called on Iraqi investors to take the initiative in adopting these patents as a means of supporting national products and enhancing economic development, stressing the importance of linking scientific research with the labor market and transforming innovation into effective productive projects.
