A segment of the engineering workshops lecture for first-year students in the Prosthetics and Orthotics Engineering Department was conducted under the supervision of Lecturer M.M. Mohsen Alawi and Engineer Aya Talib Hassan, on Tuesday, 20/1.
The lecture included a practical application in the turning and casting workshop within the engineering laboratories, where students were introduced to the fundamentals of machining and practical manufacturing. This contributed to enhancing their technical skills and linking theoretical knowledge with practical application, in line with the requirements of the engineering labor market.
This activity comes within the framework of supporting the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly:
Goal 4: Quality Education, by providing applied education that develops students’ practical skills and enhances their professional competence.
Goal 9: Industry, Innovation, and Infrastructure, through developing manufacturing capabilities and encouraging innovation in the engineering field.
Goal 12: Responsible Consumption and Production, by raising awareness of safe manufacturing practices and the optimal use of materials within workshops.
This activity reflects the department’s commitment to preparing qualified engineering cadres who contribute to achieving sustainable development and serving the community.
