The Prosthetics and Orthotics Department organized an awareness seminar entitled “An Empty Chair and an Incomplete Role,” under the supervision of Assistant Muhammad Habib Hussein and Assistant Maryam Mohammed Karim, as part of its focus on psychological and social aspects and on enhancing students’ awareness within the university environment.
The seminar highlighted the impact of the absence of roles and responsibilities in academic and social life, and the resulting feelings of emptiness and lack of motivation. It addressed the concept of the “empty chair” as a symbol of the absence of influence and active participation, while the idea of the “incomplete role” was presented as an indication of the failure to properly invest personal energies and abilities.
The seminar also discussed the importance of taking responsibility, self-discovery, and striving to develop personal and academic skills in line with the requirements of university study and the needs of the labor market.
This seminar is part of a series of awareness activities through which the department seeks to provide psychological and intellectual support to students and to promote initiative and positive engagement within the university community.
