The Department of Anesthesia Technologies Holds an Awareness Seminar on the Risks Faced by Anesthetists in the Operating Room

The College of Health and Medical Technologies / Department of Anesthesia Technologies organized an educational seminar entitled “Risks Faced by Anesthetists in the Operating Room”, delivered by Dr. Mohammed Abdulzahra Sa’sa’a, on Monday, January 26, 2026. The seminar aimed to shed light on the nature of the working environment inside operating rooms and the professional and health challenges it entails, which may directly affect the safety of anesthetists. It also emphasized the importance of health awareness in early prevention and in reducing long-term occupational risks. The seminar highlighted the role of health education in supporting one of the Sustainable Development Goals, namely Good Health and Well-Being, by promoting safe practices and enhancing professional awareness among practitioners in this field. In addition, the seminar sought to educate students on how to identify occupational hazards and develop their professional awareness prior to engaging in clinical practice. The seminar concluded by emphasizing that anesthetists represent a fundamental pillar in the success of surgical operations, and that maintaining their physical and psychological well-being positively reflects on the quality of healthcare services provided. This activity is part of a series of scientific and awareness-raising events organized by the college, aiming to prepare qualified students capable of working safely in accordance with approved health and professional standards.
