The Department of biology organized an awareness campaign entitled “Why Sustainability and Recycling” under the supervision of lecturer M.M. Zainab Nadhim Aziz, with the participation of teaching assistant Ala Adel and a number of department students. The campaign aimed to raise environmental awareness and encourage sustainable practices within the university community. The campaign included the distribution of brochures and educational materials to highlight the importance of recycling and conserving natural resources, as well as the impact of these practices on reducing pollution and combating climate change. Students were also shown how to integrate sustainability principles into their daily lives in a practical and effective manner. This initiative supports the Sustainable Development Goals, particularly: Goal 12: Responsible Consumption and Production Goal 13: Climate Action Goal 15: Life on Land The campaign emphasized that adopting sustainable practices and recycling today contributes to building a clean, healthy environment and a better future for coming generations, reflecting the university’s commitment to social and environmental responsibility.
