Under the patronage of Professor Dr. Hassan Shaker Majdi, President of Al-Mustaqbal University, the Women’s Affairs Division, in cooperation with the Women’s Affairs Unit at the College of Science / Department of Smart Medical Systems, organized a scientific workshop entitled “Economic Empowerment – Entrepreneurship” on Saturday, 31 January 2026. The workshop was delivered by Asst. Lecturer Najat Hamid Jasim. The workshop aimed to highlight the concept of women’s economic empowerment and its importance in enhancing financial independence and supporting entrepreneurship by encouraging individual initiatives and developing entrepreneurial skills that enable women to enter the labor market with confidence and efficiency. It also focused on the role of entrepreneurial projects in supporting the national economy and achieving sustainable development, particularly in modern scientific and technological fields. In addition, the workshop addressed the importance of capacity building and the development of planning, creativity, and decision-making skills, contributing to the creation of sustainable job opportunities and strengthening women’s active participation in economic and social development. This workshop was held in implementation of the Third National Action Plan on Women, Peace, and Security – the Pillar of Economic Empowerment and Participation, and in alignment with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly: Goal 5: Gender Equality and the Empowerment of All Women and Girls. Goal 8: Decent Work and Economic Growth. Goal 9: Industry, Innovation, and Infrastructure.
