Under the patronage of the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research and in partnership with the European–Asian Universities Association (EURAS), University of Al-Mustaqbal witnessed on Thursday , January 29, 2026, the launch of the EURAS Academy 2026 Forum, an international scientific event held for the first time in Iraq, with the participation of a distinguished group of higher education leaders, policymakers, and academics from inside and outside Iraq. The opening ceremony was attended by the representative of the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research, Deputy Minister for Administrative Affairs, Professor Dr. Adnan Al-Jumaili, President of EURAS and Rector of Istanbul Aydin University, Professor Dr. Mustafa Aydin, and President of University of Al-Mustaqbal, Professor Dr. Hassan Shaker Majdi, alongside a large number of Iraqi university presidents, assistants, deans, professors, and researchers. The forum also witnessed the attendance of the Dean of the College of Education, Assistant Professor Dr. Ahmed Rawdan, along with the Head of the English Department, the department coordinators, and the teaching staff, reflecting the College of Education’s commitment to following international scientific events and engaging with global academic experiences. The forum commenced with a speech on behalf of the university president delivered by Director of Academic and Scientific Supervision, Professor Dr. Muzafar Sadiq Al-Zuhairi, who emphasized that hosting this international event reflects University of Al-Mustaqbal’s advanced academic status and its pioneering role in promoting scientific dialogue and building international partnerships, especially amid the rapidly evolving transformations in higher education, notably in digital transformation, artificial intelligence, quality assurance, and sustainability. For his part, Professor Dr. Mustafa Aydin expressed his gratitude and appreciation to the University of Al-Mustaqbal for the excellent organization and hosting of this international forum, while Deputy Minister Professor Dr. Adnan Al-Jumaili stressed the importance of international partnerships in developing higher education and benefiting from global experiences to enhance the quality of university education.
