Under the patronage of the President of Al-Mustaqbal University, and under the supervision of the Dean of the College of Science, with direct follow-up by the Head of the Department of Forensic Evidence, the Department of Forensic Evidence at the College of Science – Al-Mustaqbal University organized a specialized scientific workshop entitled “Causes of Legal Justification.” The workshop was delivered by Assistant Lecturer Raed Jawad Kazem, who addressed the concept of legal justification from both legal and forensic perspectives. He highlighted the main legislative principles that permit certain acts under specific circumstances, focusing on practical applications related to forensic work and the role of specialists in interpreting such cases within a proper legal framework. The workshop aimed to enhance the legal knowledge of students and staff, link theoretical concepts with practical applications, and contribute to preparing scientifically qualified professionals capable of analyzing criminal cases based on accurate legal and scientific foundations. This workshop also reflects the Department’s commitment to supporting scientific and training activities and aligns with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly: SDG 4: Quality Education, by promoting high-quality academic education and disseminating specialized legal knowledge. SDG 16: Peace, Justice and Strong Institutions, through strengthening concepts of justice, rule of law, and legal awareness. SDG 17: Partnerships for the Goals, by encouraging academic collaboration within the educational institution. At the conclusion of the workshop, the organizers emphasized the importance of continuing such scientific events that contribute to raising students’ academic and intellectual levels and reinforcing the University and College’s role in supporting scientific research and serving the community.
