A herniated disc is a medical condition that occurs when part of the disc between the vertebrae slips out of its normal position, causing pressure on nearby nerves. This pressure can lead to back pain that may radiate to the limbs, along with numbness, tingling, and muscle weakness. Herniated disc can result from improper lifting of heavy objects, prolonged sitting, or aging. Treatment depends on the severity of the condition and may include rest, physiotherapy, pain-relieving medications, and in severe cases, surgical intervention.
