The “Digital Transformation and Artificial Intelligence Forum” was launched this morning, Sunday, 25/1/2026, as part of the activities of Good Education Week (SDG4). The forum was organized by the Al-Mustaqbal Center for Artificial Intelligence Applications in collaboration with the Arab Scientific Research Councils, under the patronage and presence of Professor Dr. Hassan Shaker Majdi, President of Al-Mustaqbal University, with participation from a distinguished group of academics and experts from Iraqi universities and institutions.
The forum focused on the pivotal role of artificial intelligence and digital transformation in supporting development pathways, enhancing decision-making mechanisms, and building modern institutions capable of keeping pace with rapid changes. In the opening speech delivered on behalf of the university by Professor Dr. Nidal Al-Abadi, Director of the Al-Mustaqbal Center for Artificial Intelligence Applications, it was emphasized that universities represent the primary driver for leading this transformation through scientific research, capacity building, and linking knowledge to practical applications.
The forum included three scientific discussion sessions addressing key issues, including: the application of artificial intelligence in decision-making, digital transformation strategies and their associated challenges, and cybersecurity requirements amid the rapid expansion of AI technologies. The sessions featured rigorous academic discussions and in-depth dialogues reflecting the participants’ academic and practical expertise, aiming to assess the current reality and explore future development prospects.
The forum also featured a recorded speech by Mr. Talal Abu-Ghazaleh, in which he praised Al-Mustaqbal University’s initiative in organizing this scientific event, highlighting the importance of adopting clear policies for digital transformation, and providing a set of recommendations to accelerate the pace of digital transformation in the region.
The forum concluded with several key recommendations, most notably: expanding the use of AI applications across various sectors, developing digital infrastructure, building and developing human capacities, supporting scientific research and applied projects, and strengthening legislative and ethical frameworks regulating the use of AI technologies.
This forum reflects Al-Mustaqbal University’s commitment to practically adopting digital transformation, as the event was organized entirely based on digital systems and artificial intelligence technologies, demonstrating the university’s dedication to implementing smart and sustainable practices in its academic and scientific activities.
