Universit Al-Mustaqbal organized the EURAS Academy 2026 International Forum in cooperation with the Eurasian Universities Union (EURAS) on Thursday, 29 January 2026, at the University campus. The forum was attended by the President of the Union, representatives of the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research, along with a distinguished group of Iraqi and international university presidents, and representatives of several ministries and official institutions. The forum constituted a high-level international academic platform for dialogue and the exchange of visions and expertise, affirming the advanced standing of Universit Al-Mustaqbal at both the regional and international levels, particularly as it represents the first international forum of its kind to be hosted by an Iraqi university, with broad participation from academics, experts, and decision-makers in the fields of higher education and sustainable development. On the sidelines of the forum, and as a strategic step aimed at activating its outcomes and expanding horizons of international cooperation, an academic Memorandum of Cooperation was signed between Universit Al-Mustaqbal, represented by its President, Professor Dr. Hassan Shakir Majdi, and Istanbul Aydın University, represented by its President, Professor Dr. Mustafa Aydın, who also serves as President of the Eurasian Universities Union (EURAS), which includes more than 150 universities across Europe and Asia. The memorandum encompasses several key areas of cooperation, most notably enhancing academic mobility for faculty members and students, developing joint scientific research programs, and updating and modernizing academic curricula, in addition to exchanging expertise in the fields of technological innovation, university governance, and education diplomacy. These efforts aim to strengthen the relationship between the university and society and reinforce the role of higher education institutions in achieving sustainable development. This cooperation comes within the framework of Universit Al-Mustaqbal’s strategy to establish effective international partnerships and expand avenues of scientific and academic collaboration with reputable global universities and institutions, positively impacting the quality of education and scientific research, and further enhancing the University’s international presence.
