The College of Health and Medical Technologies organized a free medical screening campaign on the occasion of World Cancer Day, which falls on 04/02/2026, aiming to raise health awareness, encourage early detection of cancer, and contribute to promoting good health and well-being, as well as quality education by enhancing health knowledge in the community.
The campaign included a variety of free medical screenings, such as abdominal, pelvic, bladder, breast, and lymph node examinations, alongside practical training on breast self-examination, enabling participants to recognize early warning signs and encouraging prevention and early detection as effective measures to reduce the spread of cancer.
The campaign was supervised by Dr. Zahraa Halim Al-Qaim, Dean of the College of Health and Medical Technologies, with the participation of a group of doctors from Al-Hilla Teaching Hospital and faculty members from the Department of Anesthesia Technologies, namely Dr. Walaa Nouri and Dr. Bashar Al-Araji, in support of achieving Sustainable Development Goal 3 (Good Health and Well-being) and promoting Sustainable Development Goal 4 (Quality Education) through raising community health awareness.
The campaign was organized as part of the college’s efforts to highlight the vital role of academic institutions in spreading health and preventive culture within society.
