The **Department of Prosthetics and Orthotics Engineering** organized an **awareness campaign to combat cancer** on campus, under the supervision of **Assistant Lecturer Maryam Ghassan Ghaffar**, **Teaching Assistant Mohammed Habib Hussein**, and **Engineer Hadeer Hussam Hashem**. The campaign aimed to promote health awareness among students and strengthen the culture of prevention and early detection of cancer.
The campaign included a range of awareness activities, such as **educational lectures**, **distribution of informational brochures**, **display of awareness posters**, as well as the presentation of simplified information on the **causes of cancer**, **methods of prevention**, and the **importance of early screening** and its role in increasing recovery rates and reducing complications.
The organizers emphasized that this initiative reflects the university’s **social responsibility** in supporting health and humanitarian issues, as well as its commitment to preparing **aware students capable of spreading health culture within the community**.
The campaign witnessed **strong engagement from students**, who expressed the importance of such activities in raising health awareness and encouraging positive behaviors that contribute to reducing the spread of chronic diseases, particularly **cancer**.
This campaign is part of a series of purposeful activities implemented by the university in support of the **Sustainable Development Goals**, especially **Goal 3: Good Health and Well-Being**.
