In a new academic achievement that reflects the strong presence of Iraqi scientific research in reputable international journals, Dr. Redha Ghanem Dakhel, a lecturer at the College of Education / Department of English, participated in a joint research team with scholars (Muslim Mohammed Lahmood Al-Maamouri and Aqeel Muslim Mohammed) in publishing an in-depth critical study in the International Journal of Research and Analytical Reviews (IJRAR). The published paper was entitled: “The Use of Sonnets in English Plays: A Critical Approach in Different Poetic Schools.” The study examined the central role of the sonnet— a poetic form consisting of fourteen lines— not only as an independent poem, but also as an effective dramatic element within the structure of English plays. The researchers analyzed how sonnets were employed across various poetic schools, highlighting the aesthetic and critical dimensions they added to classical dramatic texts. The research was published in Volume 13, Issue 1 (February 2026) of IJRAR, an international peer-reviewed journal with a high impact factor of 7.17, which enhances the significance of the findings and their contribution to literary and linguistic studies. This publication comes as part of ongoing efforts to develop critical approaches in the study of English literature, offering a modern perspective that connects poetry and drama, and confirming the ability of Iraqi scholars to compete in internationally indexed journals. Congratulations to Dr. Redha Ghanem Dakhel on this scientific achievement. Al-Mustaqbal University… the first in Iraq.
