"Science is not merely instruction, but experience and practice."
As part of our department's efforts to enhance the practical application of knowledge and connect theoretical material with practical application, first-year students conducted a unique educational activity entitled "The Kidney: Structure and Function."
The activity was directly supervised by Assistant Lecturer Zainab Sattar Jabbar. Students designed and modeled a complete anatomical model that simulates the structure of the human kidney using simple art materials and teaching aids.
Activity Objectives:
• Interactive Learning: Transforming dry information from textbooks into tangible models that help solidify anatomical understanding.
• Teamwork: Fostering a spirit of cooperation among students in distributing tasks, from planning and drawing to final execution.
• Illustrating Biological Pathways: The model focused on highlighting the vital parts of the kidney, including:
• Renal Cortex
• Renal Medulla
• Renal Pelvis
• Renal Artery and Vein
