As part of awareness-raising activities aimed at enhancing community understanding of humanitarian and educational issues, the Department of Life Sciences organized an awareness campaign entitled “Child Marriage: A Violation of Girls’ Childhood and Their Right to Education”, under the supervision of Assistant Lecturer Banin Ma’an Karim. The campaign emphasized the importance of protecting girls’ rights and ensuring their right to education and a dignified life.
The campaign included the distribution of awareness brochures throughout the university corridors, highlighting the negative consequences of child marriage from health, psychological, and social perspectives, as well as its direct impact on depriving girls of continuing their education and achieving their future aspirations. The informational materials also stressed the importance of collective community efforts to reduce this phenomenon and promote a culture of respect for women’s rights and their scientific and social empowerment.
This initiative aligns with efforts supporting women’s rights and reinforces the role of academic institutions in raising awareness about significant social issues, contributing to the building of a more aware and just society.
