Under the patronage of the President of Al-Mustaqbal University, Prof. Dr. Hasan Shakir Majdi, the Women’s Affairs Division, in cooperation with the Women’s Affairs Unit at the College of Arts and Human Sciences, organized an awareness campaign titled "Women as a Cultural Symbol of Gold: From Adornment to Therapeutic Beliefs," presented by Asst. Lect. Rusul Ni’ma Kamal on Saturday, February 14, 2026. The campaign aimed to highlight the historical role of women as carriers of cultural symbolism associated with gold, exploring its cultural, social, and economic dimensions across ancient civilizations like Mesopotamia and Egypt, while also discussing the transition of gold from a decorative ornament to its connection with therapeutic and folk beliefs, distinguishing between science and myth. Furthermore, the initiative sought to empower women economically by promoting conscious consumption and effective management of gold savings as a secure investment, aligning with the Third National Plan for Women, Peace, and Security and achieving Sustainable Development Goal 5 regarding Gender Equality.
