A scientific training workshop titled “Fundamentals of Computer Handling and Maintenance” was delivered by Assistant Lecturer Sura Mousa Ali and Engineer Haider Karrar Hussein as part of the scientific and training activities aimed at developing the skills of supporting teaching staff. The workshop targeted teaching assistants at the Technical College, focusing on providing them with essential theoretical and practical knowledge related to the proper use of desktop computers, given their significant importance in academic, laboratory, and administrative work. The workshop covered several key topics, including: An introduction to the basic components of a desktop computer (Hardware & Software). Proper operating procedures and safe handling of the device. Fundamental principles of desktop computer maintenance. Diagnosing common faults and methods of troubleshooting. General safety guidelines when working with computer equipment. Preserving devices and extending their lifespan. The workshop was distinguished by clear explanations and direct interaction with the attendees, in addition to practical examples and valuable tips that help new teaching assistants perform their duties more efficiently within the college. At the conclusion of the workshop, emphasis was placed on the importance of continuing to organize such courses and training workshops due to their effective role in enhancing the scientific and practical level of staff members and strengthening their readiness to deal with modern technologies.
