As part of efforts to enhance laboratory awareness and develop students’ practical skills, an introductory workshop titled “Fundamentals of Laboratory Equipment in the Communications Course” was delivered. The workshop aimed to familiarize students with the laboratory components and the operating mechanisms of the equipment used in practical experiments, with a focus on proper operating methods and the standards to be followed during lab work. The workshop included a direct hands-on explanation of several communications laboratory devices. The correct procedures for operation and setup were demonstrated, along with how to read measurements and interpret results. In addition, common mistakes that may lead to misuse or damage to equipment were highlighted. Emphasis was also placed on adhering to safety procedures and technical guidelines to maintain equipment efficiency and ensure its optimal performance. The workshop witnessed notable interaction from students through questions and active participation in practical applications, which helped strengthen their practical understanding and link theoretical knowledge with hands-on experience inside the laboratory. The workshop was conducted under the supervision of Assistant Lecturer Sura Mousa Ali and Engineer Ali Naji Radi, reflecting the department’s commitment to developing students’ practical competencies and enhancing their ability to handle laboratory equipment within a structured and safe educational environment.
