A Dialogue Session at Al-Mustaqbal University Discusses the Role of Intelligent Medical Systems in Supporting Mental Health and Advancing Healthcare Innovation

Under the patronage of the President of Al-Mustaqbal University, Professor Dr. Hassan Shaker Majdi, and under the direct supervision of the Dean of the College of Science, Assistant Professor Dr. Furat Hamza Al-Sultani, and with the follow-up and supervision of the Head of the Department of Intelligent Medical Systems, a dialogue session entitled “The Role of Intelligent Medical Systems in Mental Health” was held. The session was delivered by Dr. Maytham Nabil Miqdad, as part of the University’s commitment to supporting purposeful scientific activities and highlighting the importance of employing modern technologies to enhance mental health and improve the quality of healthcare services. The session aimed to discuss the growing role of intelligent medical systems and artificial intelligence applications in the field of mental health. It explored how digital technologies contribute to the early diagnosis of psychological disorders, analysis of health data, and the provision of innovative solutions to support both patients and healthcare providers. The discussion also addressed the importance of developing smart systems that assist in monitoring mental health conditions and improving the quality of therapeutic services through advanced digital tools. The session witnessed interactive participation from students, with active discussions and questions raised about future challenges and opportunities related to implementing intelligent systems in the mental health sector. Real-life examples of health applications and digital platforms used in providing psychological support and promoting well-being were also discussed. At the conclusion of the session, emphasis was placed on raising students’ scientific awareness regarding the integration of modern technology with community health needs, and encouraging them to develop innovative projects and ideas that contribute to serving the mental health sector and achieving sustainable development. This activity aligns with the Sustainable Development Goals adopted by the United Nations, particularly Goal 3 (Good Health and Well-being), Goal 4 (Quality Education), Goal 9 (Industry, Innovation and Infrastructure), and Goal 17 (Partnerships for the Goals), contributing to preparing students capable of actively developing smart healthcare solutions.
