The Department of Animal Production at the College of Agricultural Technologies has commenced the practical lectures for second-year students ضمن the course Reproductive Physiology. The sessions focused on introducing the anatomical components of the bovine reproductive system and were conducted at the College’s livestock field.
The lecture aimed to strengthen students’ practical competencies through direct observation of the anatomical structure of the bovine reproductive system. A detailed explanation was provided, covering the ovaries, oviducts, uterus, cervix, vagina, and external genitalia, along with clarification of the physiological functions of each component and their roles in ovulation, fertilization, and pregnancy.
Students also received hands-on training in preliminary examination and diagnostic techniques, as well as proper animal handling practices within the livestock field, in accordance with professional safety standards and animal welfare principles.
These practical sessions are part of the Department’s academic plan to integrate theoretical knowledge with field application and to equip students with essential technical skills in ruminant reproduction, contributing to the preparation of qualified technical cadres capable of serving the livestock sector.
The course is supervised by the lecturer, Assistant Lecturer Ritaj Aqeel Dawood Karim Al-Janabi.
