Towards Global Engagement: Al-Mustaqbal University Hosts EURAS Academy 2026 and Signs International Cooperation Agreement with Istanbul Aydın University In a significant step towards internationalization, Al-Mustaqbal University organized the EURAS Academy 2026 International Forum in collaboration with the Eurasian Universities Union (EURAS) on Thursday, January 29, 2026, on the university campus. The event was attended by the EURAS President, representatives from the Ministry of Higher Education, and a distinguished group of university presidents and ministry officials. The forum served as an important international academic platform for dialogue and exchange of expertise, highlighting the prominent position of Al-Mustaqbal University at both regional and international levels. Notably, it marked the first international event of its kind held at an Iraqi university, bringing together leading academics, experts, and policymakers. On the sidelines of the forum, as part of a strategic initiative to implement its outcomes and recommendations, a memorandum of scientific cooperation was signed between Al-Mustaqbal University, represented by its President, Prof. Dr. Hassan Shaker Majdi, and Istanbul Aydın University, represented by its President, Prof. Dr. Mustafa Aydın, who also serves as President of EURAS, a union comprising over 150 universities across Europe and Asia. The memorandum outlines several key areas of collaboration, including enhancing academic mobility for faculty and students, developing joint scientific research, updating curricula, and exchanging expertise in technological innovation, university governance, and educational diplomacy. These initiatives aim to strengthen the university’s engagement with society and enhance its role in sustainable development.
